Back in 2013, before the historic floods that did so much damage to Lyons and so much of Boulder County, the boys at Upslope Brewing’s Lee Hill facility brewed a was that would become Spirit Hound’s Straight Malt Whiskey. Then, the flooding began and much damage occured at the distillery.
However, not all of those barrels were damaged. The Flood-Proof barrels turned out an amazing whiskey, and then were refilled with beer from the Upslope folks to create a small batch, flood-proof barrel aged Scotch Ale. The Upslope taprooms have them, and on Friday night so will we!!
